A money center bank's team is preparing to say goodbye to one of its two asset management chiefs.

Eric Lane,
co-head of of
Goldman Sachs' [
profile] asset management division, is leaving the New York City-based firm and joining a hedge fund firm,
Tiger Global Management ,as president, chief operating officer, and partner, according to reports in
Bloomberg, the
FT,
P&I, and
Reuters. Word is that Lane's fellow Goldman Sachs asset management co-head,
Julian Salisbury, will work with Lane on the transition over the coming weeks. The reports cite company memos and shareholder letters.
Lane is joining Tiger as the firm's current chief financial officer and COO,
Anil Crasto, is expected to retire by year-end.
Lane joined Goldman in 1996 in the equity capital markets group. He later led the investment management division's special investments group, then its capital markets, then its alternative investments and capital markets business. In 2009, he
rose to co-COO of investment management, and in 2011 he
rose again to co-head of all of investment management. In 2021, he became co-chief of the consumer and investment management division.
