Industry conference organizers
continue to adjust to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. At least two big June events, and an April-May event, are some of the recent ones making changes.
BNY Mellon's
Pershing team has canceled their 2020
Insite conference, a company spokesperson tells
MFWire. The B-D- and RIA-support giant's annual conference was
originally scheduled for June 10-12 in Chicago.
"After much thought and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel INSITE 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic," that Pershing spokesperson tells
MFWire.
Looking ahead, the Pershing team has scheduled their 2021 Insite conference for June 8-10, 2021, in Orlando.
Yesterday the
Morningstar team
informed the industry that their giant
Morningstar Investment Conference is being postponed. The advisor-centric event (which traditionally features a host of fundsters, both PMs and distribution and marketing executives, trying to reach those FAs) was originally scheduled for June 3-5 in Chicago.
"We will share a new date for the event in the coming weeks," the Morningstar team posted.
(The Insite and Morningstar conferences were both scheduled to be held at Chi-Town's McCormick Place convention center. Last week, news
leaked that the convention is being
transformed into a temporary hospital in light of the pandemic.)
Meanwhile, Wilmington plc's
FRA team is
transforming their 29th
Sub-Advised Funds Forum into a virtual event. The conference, originally scheduled to be held at the Westin Times Square in New York City on April 30 and May 1, will keep the same dates but go entirely online.
