After spending more than 23 years with

profile] and its predecessor organizations, an industry veteran has joined
Nationwide [
profile].

Tom Tyson is joining Columbus, Ohio-based Nationwide as managing director of institutional sales,
MFWire has learned. Tyson most recently served as head of U.S. product management at Atlanta-based Invesco before leaving the firm back in October.
An Invesco spokesperson did not immediately return a call for comment.
"Tom Tyson was recently named the central division manager director of institutional sales for Nationwide's investment management business," Jeff Whetzel, a company spokesman, tells

According to his LinkedIn profile, Tyson now leads a team that works with B-Ds, banks, clearing platforms, consultants, RIAs, and TAMPs.
Tyson rejoined Van Kampen in 2000, and he stayed when Invesco
bought Van Kampen in 2010. Prior to that, he spent several years at FRC after an initial four-year stint at Van Kampen. He also worked at Kemper. He is an alumnus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
