The Baron folks took over Lincoln Center today yet again for their 28th annual conference, which drew more than 5,000 people. The event is for investors who have at least $25,000 in Baron Funds.
After breakfast sessions, the morning featured CEOs of some of Baron Funds' portfolio companies. Attendees then divided up for lunch: some saw
Soledad O'Brien do a Q&A with comics
Steve Carrell and
Stephen Colbert, some saw ballet dancers, and some saw
Mariah Carey sing.
Ron Baron also gave away Teslas (and Tesla chairman
Robyn Denholm was one of the speakers this morning). One 22-year-old attendee was not in her seat when they announced that seat as a winner of a Tesla model, so another name was drawn. The first would-be winner was devastated when she returned and realized what she missed, so Ron Baron decided to give away two cars.
