DWS.
Oliver's
role change comes as managing director
Fiona Bassett
moves back to the UK. With this move, Bassett will no longer function as global co-head of product, global co-head of passive, the two co-head positions she's held since starting at DWS in March 2018. She will now work for DWS' global COO,

DWS spokeswoman Oksana Poltavets describes Oliver's new role as including "expanded responsibility." He will continue to run the capital markets piece along with his duties as head of index investing. He will report to the global head of index investing,
Manooj Mistry.
"Luke has been with us for a long time as the head of capital market, everybody knows him and everybody loves him," Poltavets tells
MFWire. "We felt like he’s the right person to step into this position."

In addition to his new title, Oliver has spent a year and a half at DWS as managing director and head of ETF capital markets in the Americas. Oliver's prior work experience includes thirteen years with Deutsche Bank (which is DWS' majority owner) based in New York City, and six years with Deutsche based in London.
Bassett’s work history also includes time at Deutsche Bank. Bassett served as managing director, COO global key projects and integration, Deutsche asset and wealth management in London and head of passive asset management Americas, Deutsche asset management in New York City.
