Yesterday in Austin, the American Bankers Association (ABA) kicked off the ABA Wealth Management and Trust Conference. Last week's column includes more details on the event, which continues today and tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Pageant's Fund Intelligence team is hosting their 2018 Fund Directors New York Summit at the Warwick Hotel in midtown Manhattan. The event is sponsored by Broadridge.

Also in New York City tomorrow, folks from Innovator ETFs and Investor's Business Daily will gather at the NYSE in the afternoon to ring the closing bell, followed by a cocktail hour.

Also in the Big Apple tomorrow, folks from Thomson Reuters will host their 2018 U.S. Lipper Fund Awards. As in years past, the awards dinner will be held at the Mandarin Oriental. InvestmentNews is sponsoring the event.

On Wednesday Jim Fitzpatrick and his team at NICSA will kick off the trade group's 2018 Strategic Leadership Forum (SLF). The three-day event will be held at the Doral in Miami, Florida and will feature keynote speeches from: Kunal Kapoor, CEO of Morningstar; Carey Lohrenz, the first female U.S. Navy F-14 Tomcat Fighter Pilot; and Bob Reynolds, president and CEO of Putnam Investments and Great-West Financial. On Thursday Rob Sharps, co-head of global equity at T. Rowe Price, will rise to the newly created position of head of investments at the Baltimore-based mutual fund shop. Eric Viel, head of U.S. equity, will take Sharps' place as co-head of global equity alongside Chris Alderson, head of international equity.
