Dan Arnold and his team are bringing thousands of FAs (and fundsters, LPL employees, other FA allies, and families) back to Beantown over the next few days.
This weekend the
LPL folks will kick off
LPL Focus 2017, Arnold's first Focus conference as CEO of the Boston- and San Diego-based independent broker-dealer. (He
took over as CEO in January.) The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center
expects about 7,000 people to attend the
five-day event, and FAs and other attendees will be staying in at least a dozen hotels in downtown Boston and the Seaport District.
The pre-conference begins tomorrow with an all-day, hands-on technology training session and continues with other pre-conference workshops on Sunday, including the "Focus on Women Advisors Forum." On Sunday afternoon, the
LPL Financial Foundation will team up with
City Year Boston and
Crossroads for Kids for a volunteer leadership development activity, mentoring and supporting ninth grade students and assembling school supply kits.
The main conference begins Sunday night with a welcome reception and concert featuring pop star
Kelly Clarkson. The conference sessions will begin Monday morning and continue through mid-day on Wednesday. Featured speakers scheduled to take the main stage include: marketer
Seth Godin;
Lori Greiner, the "Warm-Blooded Shark" of
Shark Tank fame;
CBS Boston anchor
Lisa Hughes; and
Bert Jacobs, co-founder and CEO of the Life is Good Company. Arnold himself will also speak, as will several other senior LPL executives, including:
Rob Pettman, executive vice president of product and platform management;
Matt Enyedi, executive vice president of national consulting and marketing;
Andy Kalbaugh, managing director and divisional president of national sales and consulting; and
Dimple Shah, executive vice president of strategy.
