Polen Capital Management, a Boca Raton, Florida-based investment management firm, is expanding to Boston.
Tucker Walsh will join the firm in July to lead the firm’s launch of a U.S. small company growth strategy based in a new Boston office. The strategy will launch through a separate managed account in July, and there are plans to launch a mutual fund based on the strategy in 2018.

Walsh joined
Polen Capital this year from
Copper Rock Capital Partners, where he spent ten years as CEO and head PM. Before that he spent nine years as managing director and head of small cap growth team at
State Street Research.

The new strategy looks to invest in stocks of businesses that are well off financially, have a competitive advantage, and are positioned for long term growth. Polen Capital currently has nearly $10.5 billion AUM and manages three other investment strategies: focus growth, global growth, and international growth.
