A spokesperson for Northern Trust confirmed Rosenberg's departure, but declined to comment on how his duties are being handled.
In the newly created position Rosenberg will be leading American Century Investments' entry into the ETF marketplace, which is expected to happen early next year. He will work with the firm's investment teams to develop a suite of ETFs, including active ETFs. Rosenberg will report to
Peruvemba Satish, SVP, PM, and director of global analytics at American Century.
“With the active ETF segment of the market still in the early stages of development, we're confident American Century can be a very relevant player by providing the solutions our clients need now and in the future,” Satish
states.
David MacEwen, co-CIO and SVP, calls American Century's new ETF initiative client-centric.
"I want to see the business grow because then I know I’ll be helping our clients," MacEwen tells
MFWire.
MacEwen says in addition to leveraging talent within American Century's investment teams, they will eventually build an ETF-specific team for Rosenberg.
Prior to joining FlexShares in 2012, Rosenberg worked on ETFs at Russell Investments and Vanguard.
