Israel Agrees to Extradite a Duo Who Allegedly Hacked Fidelity and J.P. Morgan

News summary by MFWire's editors

A pair of Israelis tied to the hacking of Fidelity and J.P. Morgan are coming back to the U.S. to stand trial. [See MFWire's living timeline for more updates and history on the great financial services hack.]

Abby Johnson
Fidelity
President, Chief Executive Officer
Gwen Ackerman and Alisa Odenheimer of Bloomberg report that the Jerusalem District Court and the Israeli Justice Ministry have approved the extradition of Ziv Orenstein and Gery Shalon, who are accused of hacking and securities fraud.

J.P. Morgan, Scottrade, TD Ameritrade, and Dow Jones have all previously confirmed that they were victims of the alleged hacking conspiracy. And published reports have pointed to Fidelity as the unnamed "Victim-2" mentioned in the original indictment last year, which identifies Victm-2 as "one of the world's largest financial services corporations, providing mutual fund, online stock brokerage and other services, with headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts."

Fidelity previously declined to confirm or deny whether or not the alleged hackers victimized them, too. The way the indictment reads, "Victim-2" quickly fought off the hacks.
