This fall, the
Wells Fargo [
profile] team is tweaking their mutual fund branding.
A spokeswoman for the giant bank's fund business confirms that, effective December 15, Wells will
remove "Advantage" from its mutual funds' names. The funds have been known as the Wells Fargo Advantage Funds.
"Because fund names are often abbreviated in database listings, longer fund names can make it difficult for investors to identify a specific fund," the spokeswoman tells
MFWire in an e-mailed statement. "We believe this change will help alleviate confusion and will allow us to more clearly communicate our product names."
Wells has more than 100 mutual funds with a combined $229.8 billion in AUM as of July 31.
