They weren't kidding. Vroom!

Yesterday, we reported that Ameriprise's leaders were looking to hire a new head for intermediary distribution for Columbia.

It turns out they were a bit farther ahead in that process than we thought. They have hired Joseph Kringdon, previously EVP and Head of US Retail Distribution and Marketing for Pioneer.

A spokesman for Ameriprise confirmed that Kringdon is scheduled to join later this month, reporting to Ted Truscott, CEO of global asset management for Ameriprise. (GAM there also includes Threadneedle.)

This was an open position, the role was previously held by Chris Thompson, who had left in April.

Kringdon will oversee U.S. intermediary distro across all channels, including private wealth, DC I-O and 529.
