Let's face it, what's the pro-typical image of a '40 Act exec? A middle-aged white man in a blue suit. OK, sometimes the suit is grey.
It's a cliche bordering on a bad joke.
Well, a new organization is being launched to address this.
The group, called
Women in ETF, is being launched by some of the titans of the ETFs industry, including
Deborah Fuhr,
Joanne Hill,
Michelle Mikos,
Sue Thompson, and
Linda Zhang.
Thompson, who is head of the RIA channel at
BlackRock, said of the effort: “We’re thrilled to launch the Women in ETFs organization so that we can bring together women in the ETF industry, leverage our collective skill and ambition, further the careers of women today, and inspire those in the future.”
The organization's goals include connecting, supporting and inspiring women leaders within the industry.
The launch breakfast will be held on January 27th, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the
IndexUniverse Inside ETFs Conference in Hollywood, Florida.
