Another asset manager has hired a commander to lead its charge into the DC I-O space.
Cohen & Steers has hired
Matt Gannon to serve as a senior vice president responsible for growing the firm's presence in this sector.
"We've brought Matt in to head our DC I-O specific efforts building our relationships, and assets, in this part of the market," Cohen's director of global marketing
Anthony Ialeggio told
MFWire.
Ialeggio said that Gannon's responsibilities will include courting 401(k) record-keepers and plan sponsors as well as investment consultants. Gannon will also reach out to other asset managers looking to grow in this space to see if they are interested in hiring Cohen as a subadvisor.
Before joining Cohen, Gannon was a national sales manager in DC I-O for
Fidelity, hired
in September 2012.
And before that, he worked for
MFS Investment Management for 25-years, ultimately achieving the role of senior vice president. He
worked for 13-years in the firm's 401(k) record-keeping business and also spent four years running its DC I-O operations.
