WHV Launches a Small Cap

Reported by Katie Lobosco

WHV Investment Management [profile] has launched a small cap fund, according to the San Francisco-based company.

The WHV/Seizert Small Cap Value Equity Fund will be managed through a sub-advisory agreement with Seizert Capital Partners. The fund's managers are founder and CEO Gerald Seizert and portfolio managers Thomas Kenny and Andrew Jones.

“Our process is guided by a philosophy that market inefficiencies and emotion can cause significant undervaluation, and we invest in companies that we believe are trading at a substantial discount to their estimated intrinsic value," said Seizert.

The fund will invest at least 80 percent of assets in small market capitalization companies believed to be trading below their perceived value, according to WHV.

MFWire first reported the news in July when WHV Investment Management filed with the SEC to launch the fund.
