TA Associates may sell its 25 percent stake in
First Eagle Investment Management, the manager of
First Eagle Mutual Funds [profile].
Reuters reporter Jessica Toonkel got the tip from three sources who wished to remain anonymous. They said the sale may not even materialize since discussions are in the "very early stages."
Toonkel reports that the majority of the company is owned by the family of
John Arnhold, the company's current chairman and chief investment officer. Her sources told her that the Arnhold family intends to keep its majority stake.
