Beantown Has a New Securities Sheriff

News summary by MFWire's editors

Beware evil-doers of Beantown. A new sheriff has come to Boston.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Levenson will replace David Bergers as head of the SEC's Boston office, Reuters' Sarah Lynch reports. He will oversee both enforcement and examination activities, Lynch reports, as well as serving as the chief of the Economic Crimes Unit.

Levenson will be watching over some of the country's largest mutual funds and hedge funds, Lynch writes. Levenson, Harvard alumn, worked in the U.S. Attorney's Office in Massachsetts since 1989 and previously worked at Kaye, Scholer, Fierman Hays & Handler in Washington DC.
