Charles Schwab has integrated
CheckFree Investment Service's M-Pact tool set into its separate account offering for investment advisors. The service is a Web-based application designed to automate and streamline the separate account sales, proposal and advisory processes.
CheckFree also said that
A.G. Edwards rolled out a Web-based version of the M-Pact tools last year. The Jersey City-based platform provider is controls a near-monopoly position with its recordkeeping and administration platform for separately managed account platforms.
M-Pact allows advisors to create asset allocation models, blend portfolios and add manager information to client profiles. It includes data on roughly 1,300 managers and 5,600 investment products from the
Mobius product, said
Alex Marasco, executive vice president and general Manager at CheckFree Investment Services.
Schwab is offering advisors the
M-Pact tools under its own brand (it is calling it the Money Manager Analysis and Proposal System or MMAPS).
