Like a chess master positioning her pieces for the next great stratagem, iShares
is setting up pieces for a big sales push amongst insurers along the Eastern seaboard.
For example, the fund giant is looking to hire for their North-East/Middle-Atlantic team, including someone to lead this initiative, according to Hugo Ortiz
, managing director and head of West for the recruiting firm MJE Advisors
, who is handling the search.
Ortiz said that iShares was looking for a "sales thought leader and an individual with vigorous enthusiasm for ETF mechanics and variable annuities" for the lead position.
He explained that the "primary target audience will be large insurance companies in the Eastern seaboard area including their general account and variable annuity assets and assets managed by their wealth/asset management subsidiaries."
Moreover, Ortiz explained, the lead executive will serve as the central point of contact in the above-mentioned territory for the iShares Institutional channel. Additionally, he said, this executive will take the lead role for the insurance channel in developing solutions for the variable annuity segment in the US.
