Yesterday the Kansas City, Missouri-based mutual fund shop revealed that Chang, American Century's chief investment officer and executive vice president, stepped down on Friday "to pursue other opportunities." According to American Century, the six discipline CIOs will report directly to president and CEO
Jonathan Thomas until he finds Chang's successor.
Chang first took the top investing job at the mutual fund shop in 2007.

American Century Investments Chang to Leave CIO Post
KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 8, 2013 - American Century Investments today announced that Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Enrique Chang is leaving the $130 billion investment management firm to pursue other opportunities. While his oversight of the firm's investment management group ended April 5, Chang will be available to assist with an orderly transition.
American Century Investments has six discipline CIOs responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of its investment disciplines: Fixed Income, Asset Allocation, Quantitative Equity, U.S. Value Equity, U.S. Growth Equity and Global & Non-U.S. Equity. These CIOs, who previously reported to Chang, will report to American Century Investments President and Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Thomas until a new CIO is named.
