One of the top executives at TCW [profile] just stepped down. MFWire has learned that executive vice president Mark Gibello retired on March 31.

A spokeswoman for TCW declined to comment for this story.

Gibello first joined TCW in 1988, eventually leading international marketing and then all of marketing at the asset manager. His final role involved advising TCW's top executives on strategic marketing issues. Prior to joining TCW, he led Angeles International Advisors and worked with Public Storage, Inc., the Boston Company and Shareholders Asset Management Company.

Gibello will continue to maintain an office at TCW's headquarters in Los Angeles.
