Over 100 industry leaders discussed the benefits of social media platforms and other cutting edge technology trends for the distribution and sales of mutual funds during an event held by the
Mutual Fund Education Alliance (MFEA) which took place today in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The event, dubbed the
Distribution Technology Summit, was hosted by
Franklin Templeton, featured presentations on such subjects as Big Data's impacts on distribution intelligence and analytics,
Linkedin, and iPad applications. It concluded with a panel discussion featuring insights from some top financial advisors now what they are looking for in terms of technology aides.
"We really had a meeting of the minds in both the distribution and technology side on how these two areas could really merge to make distribution of funds more efficient and effective," MFEA director

Executives from over
30 asset managers attended the conference as well as experts from a number of financial technology companies.
