Want to Know More About How Advisors Think?

Reported by Tommy Fernandez

Think of them as the gatekeepers to, well,…pretty much everybody.

As more and more asset managers scramble to get access to the "In Crowd" of financial advisors, a big premium has been placed on getting into the minds of these uber-gatekeepers.

Now, a partnership between FUSE Research Network and Penton’s WealthManagement.com has been forged to provide asset managers with these vital clues for competitiveness.

Dubbed the 2013 Advisor Trend Monitor Research Series, the studies are marketed as "a comprehensive annual series of five research white papers designed to explore advisor views on topics of vital interest to the asset management community."

Each study in the series surveys the views of 500-1,000 advisors and provides tangible guidance for asset management firms that want better insights into what advisors are thinking and how it will impact sales, marketing and product decisions. The first paper in the series covered the growing trend of advisors taking more responsibility into their own hands for setting up and managing clients’ portfolios – “Rep as PM." The paper wrapped up last week looks at how advisors, of different types and sizes, use and understand alternative investments.

The reports are available for $2,500 each, or $10,000 for the complete set. Reports can be purchased at http://wealthmanagement.com/.

PENTON’S WEALTHMANAGEMENT.COM TEAMS WITH FUSE RESEARCH NETWORK ON ADVISOR TRENDS RESEARCH INITIATIVE

Advisor Trend Monitor Research Series to Deliver Unique Insights and Tactical Guidance on Issues Critical to Asset Managers

NEW YORK, NY, February 25, 2013 – Penton’s WealthManagement.com, the digital resource of REP. and Trusts & Estates, today announced a strategic partnership with FUSE Research Network, a leading decision support company serving asset management firms, on the 2013 Advisor Trend Monitor Research Series. The studies are a comprehensive annual series of five research white papers designed to explore advisor views on topics of vital interest to the asset management community. Each study in the series surveys the views of 500-1,000 advisors and provides tangible guidance for asset management firms that want better insights into what advisors are thinking and how it will impact sales, marketing and product decisions. The reports are available for $2,500 each, or $10,000 for the complete set. Reports can be purchased at WealthManagement.com, A sample report can be viewed at WealthManagement.com/AdvisorTrends.

The research program is the latest in a series of educational services introduced by WealthManagement.com, including a 12-part Thought Leadership Research Series launched in January 2013 offering unique perspectives on critical issues for wealth advisors. “Asset managers tell us that they are often in the dark when it comes to specifics of advisors’ behaviors, preferences and decision making,” said William O’Conor, vice president, Penton’s Wealth Management Group. “We teamed up with FUSE Research Network to help these firms get a better understanding about what makes advisors tick so that they can adjust their business practices to optimize the distribution effort. We chose to work with FUSE because of their strong reputation for delivering superior market intelligence and competitive research to firms in the asset management industry.”

“FUSE Research Network is committed to delivering research and recommendations to asset managers designed to help make decisions that improve their businesses now,” said Neil Bathon, founder, FUSE. “We were looking for a partner that could help us deliver better depth and timeliness versus the industry’s current offering of annual, generic studies.
