Kathleen Gafney is ready for the spotlight.
The
Eaton Vance [
profile] PM and former
Loomis Sayles [
profile] veteran got a profile in
InvestmentNews earlier this week, ahead of the launch of her first solo-managed fund later this month.
Gaffney switched from one Boston firm to another in October, and she told reporter Jason Kephart why she did so even as she was in line to take over for Loomis Sayles star Dan Fuss.
"I had just turned 50 the previous year and started to reflect on how I wanted to finish my career," she told Kephart. "I wanted to really grow and challenge myself."
Gaffney acknowledged to Kephart that it will be tough to get her new
Eaton Vance Bond Fund going.
"I can't think of a harder time to start a portfolio from scratch," she said.
