The
Associated Press puts the spotlight on
George Sauter of the
Vanguard Group.
Sauter will leave the company end of December to check out other opportunities. The economics graduate from Dartmouth College joined Vanguard in 1987. Before becoming the first CIO in 2003, he was the head of the internal equity management group.
For his investment advice, Sauter is quoted as saying:
Think long-term. Something I learned very early on is that investors frequently get caught up in the moment and in the noise around them. That tends to serve investors very poorly. They'll be much more successful if they think long-term and don't try to react to what's going on around them.
