Two Chicagoans from
Ariel Capital Management [
profile] are the second highest fundraisers for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign.
Pensions & Investments delved into data by the Center of Responsive Politics in Washington to make the finding.
Neither name is a surprise as both
John Rogers Jr. and
Mellody Hobson are longtime supporters of President Obama.
Rogers is the mutual fund firm's founder, CEO and chief investment officer, and Hobbson is president of Ariel Capital Management.
The two bundled $1.5 million for President Obama from friends and associates.
"Bundlers are people with friends in high places who ... deliver the checks to the candidate in one big ‘bundle,'" according to the CPR website.
The legal industry with $21.6 million as of April 20 remains to be the top bundles for Obama, followed by the securities and investments sector with $14.8 million in bundle.
