Fund firms breaking into the separately managed accounts market may want to check in with Effron PSN. The performance data and analytics unit of Informa, today started releasing daily updates of its separate account database, said
Lac An Vuong, managing director.
The firm is one of a handful of data collectors, along with Thomson's Nelson unit, that compete with consultants such as Callan Associates and CRA RogersCasey to collect data which from managers on these accounts. Indeed, Vuong notes that many consultants use Informa data for their own reports.
The updated information will be released through the firm's Web site at
www.effron-psn.com.
"Approximately 3,500 data fields are updated in PSN each day, and that's more than just returns," said
Margaret Tobiasen, chief operating officer of Effron PSN. "Managers are updating assets, contact information, holdings, portfolio characteristics, AIMR compliance and more every day. We want to leverage web technology and make that information available to our web based subscribers as investment managers submit the information into our database."
