Fundsters interested in Fidelity's [see profile] expansions outside of Massachusetts in recent years may want to take a look at today's issue of the Boston Globe. Todd Wallack profiles Fidelity's operations in, and impact on the people of Westlake, Texas, which is also the home of conservative firebrand Glenn Beck and Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton.

According to the Globe, the Boston-based mutual fund giant has added more than 500 jobs in the past six years and plans more than 600 more adds by the end of 2014. Numerous community members and local business owners tell the paper about what one nearby car dealer terms "the Fidelity effect."
