Charles Fernandez, has resigned as co-PM of
Fairholme Fund's [see profile] flagship fund,
Morningstar reports. Fernanadez was also co-PM of the
Fairholme Focused Income and the
Fairholme Allocation fund.
Fernandez's resignation from the firm was effective October 17, according to regulatory
filing. He joined Fairholme in 2008, and Berkowitz reportedly said at the time that he would use Fernandez's expertise in corporate restructurings to make contrarian and deep-value bets, such as his much-maligned bet on St. Joe.
Another pair of former Berkowitz disciples,
Keith Trauner and
Larry Pitkowsky, left the firm and
launched their maiden offering this year.
