The Boston Globe has an
update today on
BNY Mellon's plans to add jobs
in Westborough, Massachusetts. BNY Mellon is now planning to
move 200 workers from its Pawtucket, Rhode Island office to Westborough in the fall and create nearly 150 new jobs there
in 2012.
BNY Mellon last year acquired mutual fund service provider PNC GIS.
Earlier this year, BNY Mellon
revealed plans to consolidate some PNC GIS locations by closing the Pawtucket office when the lease expires and moving jobs to Westborough. At the time, BNY Mellon said it planned to move 200 workers to Westborough and create around 100 new jobs there.
The Boston Globe article on Tuesday said the state of Massachusetts "is expected to approve as much as $317,000 in tax credits for the company to help finance the expansion."
