AMG Names its Global Distribution Chief

Former BlackRock executive Andrew Dyson has signed on as executive vice president and head of global distribution at Affiliated Managers Group. Dyson will be based in London and report to AMG president and chief operating officer Nathaniel Dalton.

Dyson's role is newly created. His arrival comes as Prides Crossing, Massachusetts-based AMG is continuing to build out its global distribution capabilities.

Most recently, Dyson was with BlackRock, where he was global head of the institutional asset management business. He left BlackRock last year. Dyson joined BlackRock following its purchase of his employer, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, in 2006.

"Our strategy, which combines Affiliate-driven efforts with the platform of a global franchise, is generating strong client cash flows, and, given Andrew's proven track record of leadership in global distribution, we are confident he will play an invaluable role in accelerating the growth and scale of our distribution worldwide," said chairman and CEO Sean Healey in a press release Tuesday morning.

Aside from North America, AMG has sales and marketing offices in Asia, Australia, Europe and the Middle East.

AMG Appoints Andrew Dyson as Executive Vice President and Head of Global Distribution

BOSTON and LONDON, June 21, 2011 – Affiliated Managers Group, Inc. (NYSE: AMG), a global asset management company, today appointed Andrew Dyson to a newly created position as Executive Vice President and Head of Global Distribution, responsible for managing the Company’s global distribution platform. Mr. Dyson will be based in London, reporting to Nathaniel Dalton, AMG’s President and Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Dyson joins AMG from BlackRock, Inc., where he most recently served as Head of the Global Institutional Client Business, following the merger of BlackRock and Barclays Global Investors. In prior roles at BlackRock and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), Mr. Dyson held senior distribution positions, including Head of the International Institutional Business, and, before that, Head of the Institutional Business for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.

He earned an M.A. degree in Mathematics from Cambridge University.
