Vanguard [see profile] founder Jack Bogle and LPL Financial CEO Mark Casady were honored Wednesday at the Tiburon CEO Summit XX at the Ritz Carlton Battery Park in New York City.

"I'm pleased to be here," said Bogle, after accepting the award from Tiburon Strategic Advisors managing principal Chip Roame. "Truth be told, after being given 15 extra years of life after a heart transplant in 1996, I'm pleased to be anywhere," Bogle quipped, drawing laughter and applause from the audience.

The CEO Summit, which wrapped up today, drew 172 attendees occupying top-level posts in financial services firms.

Bogle and Casady each took home engraved silver bowls from Tiffany & Co.
