You have to know how to wield influence to get a $25 million salary for just three months of work. The one-time Goldman executive took the payout from Merrill Lynch and then almost immediately jumped ship to AllianceBernstein. Kraus' payout made him a media celebrity. Kraus' immediate task will be to create something at AllianceBernstein that is precious enough to join his now-famous art collection.
