Robert Skinner Ropes & Gray LLP Litigation Partner

The Ropes & Gray litigator has played a key role in many of the legal cases involving the mutual fund industry. He is making the arguments for investors in their case to recover assets against the Reserve Primary Fund after the fund "broke the buck" in 2008 and successfully defended State Street Global Advisors after the fund manager lost in subprime mortgage-backed securities.

His highest profile case reached the Supreme Court. Skinner is part of the Ropes & Gray team that defended Harris Associates against "Jones" in the "excessive fee" case (Jones v. Harris Associates LP, 559 U.S., 2010). Earlier he defended RiverSource Funds in a similar suit.
