Grail Partners advised 
National Retirement Partners on its pending sale to the soon-to-be-public 
LPL (see our sister publication, 
The 401kWire, 7/14/2010).
After leaving 
Putnam Lovell (which he co-founded) in 2005, 
Don Putnam created another investment banking firm, 
Grail Partners, which also specializes in asset management deal-making.
At the same time, Grail Partners also has ties in to the active ETF business via one of the pioneers in the space,
