Calamos Investments [
see profile] founder and CEO
John
Calamos, Sr. is the subject of a
feature article in the mutual fund firm's hometown paper,
Naperville Sun, over the weekend. The 70-year-old Calamos talks about how he got started in finance and about his company's efforts to go global.
Calamos, who has authored two books on convertible securities, also says he is thinking about writing an autobiography that would include "some of the wisdom I've hopefully acquired over the years. I need to see if I can carve out some time to get this done."
Also, Calamos tells the pub that presidents and politicians have not consulted him for advice on economic issues. "Politicians aren't interested in the things I have to say," he tells the pub. "I'm not
sure they want to hear ideas that might not be politially correct."
