American Skandia has named Lincoln Collins as its new chief operating officer. The executive will be in charge of customer service, operations, IT, and development. He formerly served at the firm as a senior vice president.

"Lincoln has been an important member of the American Skandia management team from `Day One,' and brings a wealth of experience to the position of Chief Operating Officer," stated Wade Dokken, ceo and president.

Collins has been with the firm since 1988. He has worked in sales, marketing, and product management. In 1996, he became a senior vice president.
