Nuveen Investments has a new chief marketing officer from the book industry. The Chicago-based firm has tapped
Alan Brown from the role in which he will head firmwide marketing efforts. He brings experience from Amazon.com where he was also chief marketing officer. He will begin his new position on November 7.
"Alan's proven thought leadership, classical marketing skills and experience in the financial services industry will be tremendous additions to Nuveen," said
John Amboian, president. He pointed to Brown's knowledge of technology as important since Nuveen plans to strengthen its electronic distribution and service platforms for financial advisors.
Prior to joining Amazon, Brown held senior marketing positions at MasterCard International and US BanCorp.
"Nuveen is a powerful brand known throughout the financial industry for its disciplined investment philosophy and enduring commitment to quality," Brown said. "I'm eager to build on Nuveen's solid foundation of trust and help the firm reach its full potential as a leading money manager and pre-eminent resource for financial advisors."
