Neuberger Berman has completed the asset acquisition of Fasciano, the investment advisor for the small-cap blend style Fasciano Fund. At closing the Fasciano Fund has $186 million in assets, but has been reincarnated as the Neuberger Berman Fasciano Fund, advised by Michael Fasciano at Neuberger Berman's Chicago office. Berkshire Bank is opening Gold Leaf Investment Services in an attempt to expand its financial products and services. Gold Leaf offers financial planning, money management, securities, mutual funds, and annuities, with reps in bank branches. (added 10:45 AM)

American Century Ventures is investing in Corticon Technologies, a Silicon Valley firm that provides software for automating data capture and presentation over the Internet. Such software can be used to help non-programmer portfolio managers automate data collection and manipulation without having to develop technical skills. (added 10:45 AM)

Bankruptcy-embroiled Bridge Information Systems has accepted a bid from SunGard to buy the Bridge information busineess, the EJV bond data and analytics business, and the BridgeNews LiveWire Company News service, the Bridge Trading Company brokerage business, and the eBRIDGE Internet software. The package is running at $165 million but can still be outbid before the May 31 closing date, a move that some see as likely in light of the current low price. (added 10:45 AM)
