The latest fund company to offer personalized investment returns to investors may very well be
Janus. The Denver-based fund firm has tapped
TowersData to provide software tools to create the data.
The practice of providing personalized returns was spearheaded by MassMutual, parent of OppenheimerFunds for its 401(k) plan clients nearly three years ago. Fidelity and American Century each quickly followed suite.
Janus will use TowersData
PersonalReturns service to calculate individual returns for its shareholder base of 2 million. The software will allow the firm to create an asset-weighted return that accounts for multiple contributions and withdrawals of assets from the funds.
