Salomon Smith Barney is trying to cash in on its analysts asset allocation skills with its new Smith Barney Group Spectrum Fund.
The Fund will make investments based on Salomon Smith Barney's Spectrum Allocation Model is based on technical analysis and attempts to overweight sectors ready to outperform the S&P 500 index. The model tracks the more than 100 sectors.
Like the firm's other funds, the new offering will come with a load and be distributed through Salomon's force of 11,700 financial consultants. The minimum investment is $1,000 and the minimum investment in a retirement account is $250.
