Mellon Financial Corp. has hired
Jon Groom as president of Mellon Global Investments. He was formerly
Alliance Capital Management's head of overseas fund management.
Previously, Groom ran Alliance's offshore fund business and is replacing
Francis Antin, who is taking on additional responsibilities as chief executive of the Mellon unit Boston Company Asset Management.
Ronald O'Hanley, the Boston-based head of Mellon's institutional and international fund businesses, will directly oversee Groom.
"International asset management is a key component of our overall growth strategy," said Christopher "Kip" Condon, president of Pittsburgh-based Mellon Financial.
