Hartford Life, Inc. (
HLI) has promoted two senior executives to CFO and CIO in order to solidify the chain of command after its recent IPO and to better reflect each individual's responsibilities, according to the company.
David Foy, 33, an employee of Hartford since 1993 has been promoted to chief financial officer of the country's third-biggest life insurance company. Foy had been treasurer and senior vice president.
In addition,
David Znamierowski, 39, was promoted to chief investment officer from his previous position as director of life investment strategy and senior vice president.

American General (
AGC) has named
Alice Kane as president of AG Fund Group, formed earlier this year. Kane reports directly to
John Graf, vice chairman and group executive - retirement services. Kane's focus will be on growing the company's relationships with mutual fund managers, as well as marketing and distribution of the company's products.
"We're confident that Alice will play a key role in establishing strategic partnerships that deliver the best product and value to our customers, and the best marketing and training to our sales representatives," said Graf.
Kane, 51, most recently served as executive vice president of American General Investment Management, L.P., with responsibility for retail asset management. She will continue to serve as president of the American General Series Portfolio Company. Prior to joining the company, Kane was executive vice president and member of the executive management committee of
New York Life Insurance Company. From 1994 to 1998, she managed NYLife's asset management division including the retail and institutional
MainStay Funds and
MacKay Shields.
