Ray Cunningham has been hired by Invesco as senior vice president and national sales manager, a position created for him. He will be responsible for expanding the sales effort and deepening relationships with financial advisors in all distribution channels.

Cunningham joins the company from GT Global, acquired last year by Invesco's parent Amvescap, where he was senior vice president and held similar sales responsibilities. A company spokesperson said that Cunningham was still in the process of forming his sales team.

"We are building a fully integrated sales organization to take advantage of industry trends," said Mark Williamson, president and chief executive officer. "We believe that Ray can play a key role in accelerating asset growth and helping us reach our goal of becoming the most valued investment partner to our investment advisor's clients."
