Not unlike an episode in
Wild Kingdom, a show it sponsored,
Mutual of Omaha is continuing its safari for 401(k) professionals to add to its sales team. The provider is looking to staff offices in all parts of the country.
"We have already hired 14 sales people and 12 service people," a spokesperson with the firm told InvestmentWires.
"The service people go out with the sales teams. They continue the relationship with the new client. This is particularly important early in a relationship when there is a lot of confusion when starting or changing a 401(k) plan."
"We continue to look for staff for additional offices. So far, we want to add staff in four to five offices in the Midwest region. And then we will hire where expansion is most needed," the spokesperson reported.
These new hirings coincide with the vendor's stepped-up marketing effort. The spokesperson stated that Mutual of Omaha had increased its advertising as well. The provider is looking to sign new clients with what it refers to its "high touch, high tech" outlook. According to the official, the provider has instituted new state-of-the-art recordkeeping as well as online services.
The vendor is also stressing what it believes to be its hands-on approach. "We put a lot of stress on the service we offer. We are also emphasizing our new institutional style investing for the small investor, something that really has not been available before," he continued.
The firm has also recently added five new lifestyle funds to its investment lineup. The spokesperson further noted that Mutual of Omaha was looking to make a big sales push in the autumn of this year.
