"We are pleased to make TIAA-CREF Mutual Funds available to our participants and the general public through the Schwab platform," said TIAA-CREF chairman and chief executive officer John H. Biggs. "Our research shows that many of our educational participants as well as other investors prefer to receive one consolidated statement of all their fund holdings."

"The availability of TIAA-CREF Mutual Funds through Schwab will also make it easier for educators and researchers in TIAA-CREF to diversify with other fund families, complementing their core TIAA-CREF holdings," he added.

Five TIAA-CREF Funds are now available through Schwab's transaction-fee program -- TIAA-CREF Growth and Income Fund; TIAA-CREF Growth Equity Fund; TIAA-CREF International Equity Fund; TIAA-CREF Bond Plus Fund; and the TIAA-CREF Managed Allocation Fund. TIAA-CREF annual expense fees for these funds range from 0.29% to 0.49%, among the lowest in the industry.
