There are two new faces on
Schroders' sales team. The asset manager
has brought on board
John Maguire and
Julie Macalka as external wholesalers,
company spokeswoman Jennifer Manser told
The MFWire. They report to
Carter Sims, head of intermediary distribution for North America.
There are a total of five external and two internal wholesalers on Sims' team.
Maguire started at Schroders on January 11 as West Coast sales director, succeeding
Mike Kinney. Previously, Maguire spent nine years at
Gannett Welsh & Kotler, the last
four as regional sales director for the Western U.S.
A GWK representative was not immediately available for comment on how Maguire's duties are being handled.
Macalka arrived at Schroders last December, joining
Steven Wagenbach in covering
the Northeast. Macalkca came from
Evergreen Investments, where she was a wholesaler focusing on Wells Fargo financial advisors in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. (Wells Fargo acquired Evergreen's parent, Wachovia Corp., at the beginning of 2009.) Earlier in her career, Macalka worked as an analyst at Bank of America's global corporate finance group.
It was not immediately clear how Macalka's duties at Evergreen are being handled.
A spokesperson for Evergreen/Wells Fargo declined to comment on personnel matters, citing
company policy.
