Pimco on Wednesday
filed papers with the SEC to launch the
Pimco Global Opportunities Fund, which will invest in equity securities and could also invest in bonds. The Newport Beach, California-based bond fund giant has not listed expense ratios for the fund, nor revealed the identities of the portfolio managers.
Bloomberg's Miles Weiss points out that two portfolio managers Pimco recently recruited from Franklin Templeton,
Anne Gudefin and
Charles Lahr, managed the $15.6 billion
Franklin Mutual Global Discovery Fund, which shares
similarities with Pimco's planned offering.
