Fundsters interested in the fate of
Capital Group may want to take a look at a Saturday article in the
LA Times. Tom Petruno
profiles Cap Group's
American Funds and highlights their recent outflow pain in light of the 2008-2009 market turmoil.
In particular, Petruno highlights the mutual fund titan's long-term stock-picking focus and its slow product-launching pace. (According to Petruno, American Funds has only 30 portfolios, not including its target date funds, including only two new launches in the past three years.)
