Wachovia and Morgan Stanley have reportedly ended their merger talks. Reuters reports that the two companies have officially ended it following Morgan's stabilization by converting to a bank holding company and accepting an investment from Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group earlier this week. Morgan Stanley owns Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Van Kampen Investments. Wachovia owns Evergreen Investments.
